Being healthy and fit is something I have always enjoyed. I don’t have an amazing success story like some, but I do have a journey/story. I lost my father to cancer at a very young age. Not just my father, but all of my biological grandparents as well in a very short span due to different health issues and cancer.
Helping people is something that has been my passion for a long time. I was raised to love everyone equally and to think of others first. When I left high school, I thought my journey would lead me back to coach football and teach secondary education.
Hi, my name is Melissa Watson, most know me as Moe. The words working out, fitness, nutrition, diet, these are all words that I have known ever since I can remember. I still have vague memories of working out with mom when I was a child.
My love for activity and sports goes as far back as I can remember. I will never forget the long days of shooting basketballs and hitting baseballs after school until I would shake and have to go get food. I have always had a drive to win, but lacked tools to make me top notch athlete.
As a young lad I began playing sports. Any and all sports, baseball, basketball, football, soccer or anything that kept me active and fed the competitive hunger I craved so badly. I was involved all the way through high school and stopped abruptly after graduating.
My story is a lot like everyone else’s. I played sports when I was younger. I spent my high school years thinking I was fat. After graduating I weighed about 132 pounds. About 2-3 years of living on Taco Bell and McDonalds I gained over 60 pounds.
Everyone has their journey or reason why they start CF but I feel like the one reason always leads back to “We all just want to be a better version of ourselves”. I was the girl who would weigh myself multiple times a day, take all the diet pills and try all the fad diets. One time I did the Beyoncé cayenne lemon water diet and didn’t eat for 12 days. (Yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking) I would spend hours in the gym but still was never happy with myself.
